The Body Language of the Chakras

A chakra is an old Sanskrit term meaning wheel or vortex it is a term used to reference energy centres around the body that govern our psychological properties, they also line up with our major organs.  The earliest mention of chakras is from 1900 BC in the Hindu scriptures.  In a lot of cultures there is mention of energy points.  The Chinese use acupuncture & the Jewish Kabala faith have sephiroths.

The objective is the same that we are always out of balance & treating the chakras is a way of restoring harmony.  In today’s hectic & busy world our environments are always becoming imbalanced from stress, pollution or diet.

Whether you believe in chakras or not I think there’s definitely something in it.  I find it really interesting looking at our body language, there are many examples of our behaviour that display evidence of these chakra energy points.

Crown Chakra

The crown chakra is the higher spirit when you see a crisis on Sky news & people are in shock & total disbelief they are usually cradling the top of their head the crown chakra.

Temple Chakra

The temple chakra is the third eye & psychic intuition when trying to work something out we scratch our foreheads & this is where we get wrinkles from frowning & when deep in thought.

Throat Chakra

The throat chakra is for expression & communication people often cover their mouth with their hand when they feel they want to say something but can’t.

Heart Chakra

The heart chakra is for love & hugging is holding heart to heart between two people or more.

Solar Plexus Chakra

The Solar Plexus is the power base of our emotions & the position that really hurts if you wind yourself because it is a vulnerable part of your body.  You know the phrase ‘follow your gut’ & people talking about their gut instinct well this is your solar plexus chakra.

Sacral Chakra

The sacral chakra is the centre of desire & sexual creativity – need I say more!

Root Chakra

The root chakra is associated with survival instinct being grounded to earth your sense of security.  When you are fidgeting your legs & they are wrapped around a chair you are showing signs of discomfort & feeling insecure in a situation.

Have you heard of reiki?  Have you ever had a reiki treatment?

Having a reiki treatment consists of me holding my hands over you in different positions & feeling lovely warm heat coming through & sometimes cool spots.  The word reiki means universal light energy which is in every living thing & works based on energy flowing through unblocking & rebalancing the chakras.

If you would like to try some reiki then please get in touch to make a booking.
