What is Massage?

Massage is the use of touch to manipulate the skin & underlying muscles to alleviate pain & tension.  It is one of the oldest methods of healing.
Massage is a very intuitive action when we are cold we rub ourselves warm, when a child falls over we ‘rub it better’, when we are comforting someone upset we cuddle them, when burping a baby we pat their back.  We also pat children on the head as a term of endearment to offer support & encouragement.  Any body part that a person feels pain they cradle & touch.  Our body language is very telling.
